what are the rules of basketball concerning dribbling and traveling?
I have seen times when a penalty is called on a player if he stops moving his feet and then starts moving again... and other times when he stops and then IS allowed to start walking again. What is "Traveling"? When are you supposed to dribble the ball? How many times per step? Etc...?
If your referring to the NBA, the rules don't exist.
Traveling is when you take steps with the ball and don't dribble. (you could also stumble or slide and its traveling) Double Dribbling is when you pick up the ball with 2 hands stop dribbling, and then start bouncing the ball again. Also, you can stop walking, and then start walking again as long as you keep dribbling without stoppiong.
