FLY AWAY - Dell Math Puzzles and Logic Problems Online travel agency Fly Away Vacation Services held a big blowout sweepstakes to promote its new website campaign. During a week long celebration the agency awarded seven lucky couples round-trip airline tickets to seven different European cities. On each of the seven consecutive days last week (Monday through Sunday), Fly Away posted the names of the winners (two of the winning couples are the Ashers and the Masons) and where they lived (including Chicago, Miami, Richmond, and Seattle), which would be the departure city, along with the fantastic European city they'd be visiting (two are Copenhagen and Rome). From the info and the clues below, can you determine each day's winning couple's full name (six first names are Alf, Bret, Courtney, Dale, Mel, and Stacy), departure city, and European destination? 1. Each couple's first names, last name, departure city, and destination being with five different initial letters. 2. Neither Rusty and her husband nor the Browns departed on Tuesday; Dusty (who is not Mr. Brown) and his wife (who isn't Rusty) flew to Athens. 3. Chris (who is the same gender as Alex) left one day before the couple who flew out of Boston. 4. Bo and Robin (who are married to each other) departed sometime after the couple who flew to Stockholm, and sometime before the couple who flew out of Denver. 5. The two couples who were bound for Dublin and Madrid departed on Monday and Saturday, in some order. 6. No two women have the same first initial. 7. The couple who flew from Atlanta to Berlin departed sometime after (but not one day after) Syd Rivers and his wife, and sometime before (but not one day before) Morgan Davis and her husband. 8. The Carters and Smiths departed on Thursday and Sunday, in some order. It'd be useful to have a chart with the days of the week listed horizontally and vertically, have the husband, wife, last name, departure city, and arrival city. (Just a suggestion because that's what is given.) I've tried endlessly but I can't even fill out a single box. Please, help me out...even if you don't finish, at least share what progress you've made? I'm hopelessly lost. Thank you so much!

these are pretty easy once you know hte procedure. you make a graph showing each criterea and check off everything specified int he list and hten deduce the rest from there. it's not really hard.

girls: rusty, bo, morgan guys: syd, robin, mel, dusty, bret rusty: cant be with robin, rome, richmond, rivers, browns, robin/ bo : cant be with rusty, rome, richmond, rivers, is married to bo, left either wednesday thursday or friday, not from denver , not going to stolckholm, not going to berlin, not from boston, not the browns, didnt leave on monday, tuesday, saturday, or sunday, not from atlanta chris: did not leave on sunday, and is not from boston, not paired with chicago, copenhage, courtney, carters this would be sooo much easier if i knew who was a boy and girl

The male names are Alf, Bret, Syd, Robin, Dusty, Mel and Courtney The female names are Alex, Bo, Chris, Dale, Morgan, Rusty and Stacy This is because Alf and Bret are only male names. Stacy is only female. Clue 2 Rusty is female therefore clue 6 Robin is male Clue 2 Dusty and his wife therefore Dusty is male Clue 4 Bo is married to male Robin, therefore Bo is female. Clue 7 Syd is male Clue 7 Morgan is female therefore due to clue 6 we know that Mel is male. We now have 6 males Alf, Bret, Syd, Robin, Dusty and Mel. Therefore there can be only ONE more. Clue 3 Chris and Alex are the same gender and therefore must both be female. This means Courtney who shares the same initial as Chris must due to clue 6 be Male leaving Dale to be the last female. What is the independent travel which I plan and I realise? - Independent travel for me it: independence, a freedom in choosing and decision-making. It is responsibility which lies on me and only on me. Is a way to experience the country, to size up it without relying on luster of tourist magazines, being in private with way of life: people, meal, binge, dances, the nature...
