Eating Healthy, Vegan while Traveling in Mexico?

I'm hoping to take a trip in January and I really don't want to pack a huge suitcase I have to check (not to mention pay 25 bucks for). I have a small suitcase that I can carry on and I will also have a backpack with me, since Delta allows for one carry-on and one personal item (I'll stuff my purse into my backpack). The problem is I'm not sure I know exactly how to pack a weeks worth of clothes and such into a carry-on. I don't need shampoo or soap where I'm going and I can do with the travel-size amount of saline contact solution for a week. Do any of you expert travelers know any good tips for packing light and tight? I'll appreciate any help given. Thanks and God bless you and your families.

1. If it is a common item you can find in any drug store, don't take it. Buy it there. That pretty much covers everything including most cosmetics except prescription drugs. Take only the amount of prescription drugs you need for the trip. Leave the rest at home or you may loose them going through TSA inspections. Be sure to have your Rx with you to prove you need the drugs. 2. Pack everything in ziplock bags. Squeeze the air out and seal. 3. Take old underwear, wear it once and throw it away. Don't bring it home with you. Your pack should get lighter as the trip progresses. No one but you will see it anyways, so it doesn't matter if it is old and faded. 4. Bottoms and tops should be mix and match so you can wear the same blouse twice or more with different bottoms and the same with the bottoms wear them twice or more with a different top. That cuts down on the number of outfits you need to take. Lay your bottoms and tops on the bed. Pick a match for Sunday, then mix and pick a match for Monday, Mix and match again for Tuesday, etc. for the whole week, then you will know exactly how many outfits you need to take.

My family is a pretty frequent traveler and we all always take carry ons. We never check luggage. We all have a 21" suitcase. The standard carry on size. Not sure if you are going somewhere warm or not, but if not, Winter clothes are a bit trickier. Packing shoes: Flip Flops, put one inside of the other. Put the back end of the flip flop into the front end of the other flip flop. For sneakers, flatten them as much as you can and slick them on the sides of your clothes, not the bottom of the suitcase. Also, Don't put them on tp of each other. It will save room and it will give you more room to fit your outfits for the week. For your clothes: You can either put your shirts on one side of the suitcase and bottoms of the other side (normally what i do) OR you can overlap the folded clothes giving you extra space. ALSO, another way to fit the stuff if you are not too worried about the clothes getting messed up, you can roll the clothes as tightly as possible. Bras and Underwear: Don't just fold it and stick them in the inside pocket. That will take up too much room. For the bras, stick the cups in each other, then fold them neat. Underwear do the same kind of concept. All other things: Such as hair brush, razor, sunglasses, toothbrush;; stick all of that the sides of the suitcase. All suitcases should have some sort of little pocket at the bottom of the suitcase where you stick your clothes. Stick all the little stuff in there. I would avoid (if you can) using the outside pockets. Nothing too huge that will make the top of the suitcase puff out. It will all fit, trust me. With the liquids for the carry on, it is easy. I actually just started packing because i am going away on vacation soon and packed my liquids already. I have 2 containers of 2oz contact solution, shampoo and conditioner, deodorant, and toothpaste and it all fits fine. I actually have room for other stuff if i need it. GOOD LUCK!

What is the independent travel which I plan and I realise? - Independent travel for me it: independence, a freedom in choosing and decision-making. It is responsibility which lies on me and only on me. Is a way to experience the country, to size up it without relying on luster of tourist magazines, being in private with way of life: people, meal, binge, dances, the nature...
