im traveling to mexico any tips?

Im going to Mexico City in April and would like some advice or tips on traveling with my infant. Ways to entertain in flight and what to avoid in Mexico City? Also what to bring?

don't drink the water

try putting your baby to sleep during the flight. Also don't forget your stroller (the more compact the better). Bring everything you would usually take for your baby onboard like juice, formula, bottle, sippy cup etc. Try to get everything sealed because they take it away if its already open. Also try to keep your baby as quiet as possible. Alot of people get irritated quickly.

Try to travel as light as possible, check in the most possible. My sister travelled with her baby and did not let her sleep much and the next day she slept through all the flight. Take the umbrella kind stroller, it is easier to manage in Mexico city.

WOW; i am a regular commuter. obviously use only bottled water. A bigger problem is the smog. You do not want your baby outside when the smog is high. Buy "The News" it's in english and check the smog report. You can also look out the window. It is most severe Mon. to Fri. during rush hour with no wind. be careful using a stroller on busy streets. The exhaust blows sideways on many vehicles and stay away from the curb. pedestrians get absolutely NO respect.

Things I've noticed from being in Mexico thus far: - don't stress too much about the water. EVERYONE drinks bottled. - brushing your teeth with the tap water won't kill you. I've been here nearly 3 months and have done it everyday since January 6th. - PAY ATTENTION to crossing the streets, pedestrians DO NOT have the right away. - men WILL whistle at you, blow their whistling horns at you, all you can do is ignore it. - DF (Mex. City) is not the best place in the world. Just use common sense and be aware of your surroundings, overall it's an interesting city that has a lot to offer, but it still has a reputation. I don't know where you're leaving from, but people also assume Americans are rich. - People stare, especially if you're Caucasian. You'll stick out like a sore thumb. For the plane, I know if your child starts to cry during the landing, it could be due to his/her ears. That happens to me still every time, I dont cry now (=]), but then I did. If he/she is old enough to chew gum, that will help a little, also sucking on something can help too, like a pacifier or lollipop. I'm not sure about the entertainment, but I hope this helps.

What is the independent travel which I plan and I realise? - Independent travel for me it: independence, a freedom in choosing and decision-making. It is responsibility which lies on me and only on me. Is a way to experience the country, to size up it without relying on luster of tourist magazines, being in private with way of life: people, meal, binge, dances, the nature...
