Has anyone ever stayed at the Hotetur Beach Paradise in Cancun, Mexico. I was thinking about planning a vacation in June and staying here. If anyone has stayed here... how did you like it? Any tips for traveling to Cancun would help to. Thanks!
Cancun is so commercial, it's like being in your own neighborhood. I saw Blimpies, Subway, McD's, BK, Hooters, D&D. When I go to an island, I want the island experience, not the Jersey Shore experience. Go to Riviera Maya instead. Spend your money on swim with the dolphins, rent a fishing boat, scuba diving, snorkeling. Iberostar is great. It has a whole compound of activities and then activities off the grounds.
dude cancun is not an island
Believe it or not, Cancun is actually an island that is shaped like the number 7 and is connected at the top left and bottom left edges to the mainland by two bridges. Now that I got that out of the way, I recommend you not only consider the Hotetur Beach, but you should consider the Bel Air Collection. I am not sure of the price difference however I have stayed at the Bel Air Collection and loved it. While I did not stay at the Hotetur, it looked nice but not as quaint as the Bel Air, nor was the beach as well-maintained. Most websites that are hotel rating and voter driven tend to rate the Bel Air Collection a bit higher as well. Now all that being said, for the money, it is my understanding that the Hotetur is very well worth it. It's just that for the location, I prefer a smaller resort with less guests and more attention to the cuisine, which gets a better rating at the Bel Air Collection by far. Furthermore, and finally, the reason I am making the comparison between these two resorts is because they are similar and I went through the same side by side comparison when choosing where to stay. The only other suggestion I would like to make is that you consider the Westin Regina as well. It's certainly a completely different resort, but it is in the southern Hotel Zone and on a wonderful stretch of beachfront. Have fun planning your vacation, 212eric
If you have questions about the real Cancun call 1-888-862-3806 for help booking rooms and all. They will give you ideas for fun too like: Definately the Swim with Dolphins, this is fantastic especially if you go to Dolphin Discovery on Isla Mujeres, as you have a 40 minute boat ride there and back with open bar and entertainment. The Captain Hook Pirate ships are another fun thing to try. A Jungle tour through the mangroves, with snorkelling over the Coral reefs. If you´re into diving, then Call Ben Mooney at as he knows some great dive sites. Xcaret is a wonderful day out, as you get to enjoy an ecopark, with dolphins, turtles ect and then get to watch probably the best show in the whole of Mexico at night. A catamaran trip with is a must, a day sailing and snorkeling, with buffet lunch on Isla Mujeres, open bar, a shopping trip and the chance to have your picture taken holding a live shark. At night, try the Cancun Party Hopper, there are now 2 different versions going to different bars, and they are great fun. Car rental at this helps.
| What is the independent travel which I plan and I realise? - Independent travel for me it: independence, a freedom in choosing and decision-making. It is responsibility which lies on me and only on me. Is a way to experience the country, to size up it without relying on luster of tourist magazines, being in private with way of life: people, meal, binge, dances, the nature... |
