Know any good places to stay in San Juan, Puerto Rico?
can you give me suggestions about driving in Puerto Rico?
I'm trying to determine if it's safe to travel to Puerto Rico in September. Safe meaning will the weather be ok? I've read the obvious posts that it's hurricane season so there's a chance of unfavorable weather interruptions, but what has it been like traditionally the last few years in September? If I go do I really risk the chance of sitting in the hotel for 5 days straight? What do I need to do to prep for this off season trip if I go? Travel insurance? Call the hotel to see if they're remodeling? I need travel savvy tips!
Maybe a lot of rain. But it's been years since we had a hurricane, so don't worry about it.
You should be okay weather wise. One thing that I suggest you NOT do is constantly look at weather.com. You might see something that looks like it is going to rain your whole trip, when in reality, you might get some occasionaly showers. Travel insurance in my opinion is not needed. Have a great trip! Already many governments are preparing for it. El Niños have different intensities. If I'm not mistaken the last strong El Niño was in 1998.
You cant predict weather, but it is known that September is the peak of the hurricane season, that ends in November. There are been some years that PR doesnt get hit by a hurricane, some other years that it rains a lot. I wouldnt say 'dont worry about it', just giving you the heads up!

Is a way to experience the country, to size up it without relying on luster of tourist magazines, being in private with way of life: people, meal, binge, dances, the nature... |
