How much money should i take to Cancun?
Me and my best friend want to backpack through Europe. We are very experienced back packers but we have not travelled inter-city with pack. We want to start in Ireland and work south. Is it possible to get to Great Britian from Ireland without using airplanes? We want to hit Germany, Denmark, France, Spain, Italty and we might hit a few more. We are thinking maybe a three week venture. We however need suggestions on how much money we might need on hand. Should we change currency at customs or should we find a shop or bank that is local in the contenient? Are there any train/bus agencies that are consistent throughout Europe that you would suggest using? She speaks French. I speak German and a little Spanish. I know that a lot of Europe speaks English. Is there a particular region in those countries that is easily accessable that I am going to need a phrase book? Should I carry a weapon? I have access to Mace, a stun gun, an M-9 and several knives. Is there need for on of these?
if you are staying in a German or Swiss place, i suggest you don't raise your arm high in the air if you go through villages because it signifies "hail Hitler" in some places it can actually put you in jail, you don't have to have ultra protection and stuff. just a couple of knives maybe.
Yup u definately need to plan ahead if u wanna hit so many countries in a go so i wud suggest u to look it up n plan ur detination in order n bookings ie : flights/trains/hotels/hostels n Yes u need to fly from Ireland to UK,to save time but good news for u..there's cheap airlines in europe, for u to fly around n it saves time since u have only 3weeks.So its best u book ahead if u plan to go travellin in Summer coz prices go up as well. Can't give u a suggestion on how much u shud bring but always look for a certified institution to change money n not from strangers that hangs around d exchange bureau's.How much u shud bring depends on how n wot u wanna spend it on.If u can get ur bookings for hotels/flights/trains sorted out b4 u leave then u can estimate how much u shud actually bring. If ure visitin Denmark, try to book somewer thats near to "Strøget" coz its wer all d tourists go n its all in walkin distance, then u can save on transport. :D You can also visit Sweden, juz 45mins away from Denmark by bus.Actually there is a travel agent in d main Nørreport station wer u can actually ask em to help u book trains tickets to Paris via Brussels,Belgium,it takes about 12hrs from Germany from the Osbahnhof Station. From Paris u can either take a flight or the Eurotrain to UK n vice versa. Also, u may wanna try to look up the Eurotrain website for more details at .Don't think u shud require any weapons..ure enterin europe, erhmm not Baghdad..anyways..Hope u have a safe trip n have fun. A final tip : Since ure visitin Europe, I wud suggest u take time to go to Prague,Czech Republic,u'll not regret it! Lovely place. Have tons of fun, tips from a friendly travellin swedish/danish couple :D
LOL, no need to carry guns... I'd like to do this kind of trip, but in only three weeks, maybe it's too short to visit all this countries, but if you like to walk and to travel, why not? Money, it depends, in many countries you can sleep in cheap "hotel" (auberge de jeunesse in France, I think it's the same abroad), for about 10-20 $ per night...but you can sleep "à la belle" (nowhere) if you are a true... Eating, a Big Mac menu costs about 7$ in France, a bit more in England and a bit less in Germany, but it depends... If I would do this kind of trip, I think I'd need about 1000$ for three weeks, but it can be more, it can be less, depends a lots of things, per example if you want to travel on your own (bus, train...) or with the help of good people...or if you smoke pot or not...if you want to borrow a vehicule... You can change your money with your credit cart (Visa, Mastercard...), no problem. Good trip!
| What is the independent travel which I plan and I realise? - Independent travel for me it: independence, a freedom in choosing and decision-making. It is responsibility which lies on me and only on me. Is a way to experience the country, to size up it without relying on luster of tourist magazines, being in private with way of life: people, meal, binge, dances, the nature... |
